The U.S. has several famous tourist attractions around the world that attract tourists from all over the globe. Us is also famous for most of the places being featured in Hollywood movies and games.

Exploring some of the popular destinations like Manhattan beach, wall street of new york or the downtown of las vegas will be worth visiting once.

Despite the size of the United States, there are tons of tourist spots worth seeing. However, in this article, I have picked the top 11 popular tourist attractions that are both worth visiting and worth exploring.

Before visiting make sure to check travel guidelines due to the recent condition of Covid-19. 

Times Square

Times Square is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. A total of 330,000 people pass through times square every day. Times Square was originally known as Longacre square or Long acre and served as the early location of William H. Vanderbilt’s American Horse Exchange.

The Times Square neighborhood, located in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City, is a popular commercial area, tourist attraction, and entertainment center. The streets are lit brightly with numerous billboards and advertisements which makes them more attractive during the night.

There are many Hollywood movies filmed in Times Square, such as Taxi Driver, Spiderman 3, Captain America (The First Avenger), and others. Today Times Square is one of the famous and busiest pedestrian areas in the United States.

Statue of Liberty

Statue of Liberty ( Liberty enlightening the world ) is a famous statue in the world located in new york city. The Statue of Liberty, including its pedestal, is 305 feet (93 meters) tall. This statue depicts a woman holding a torch in her right hand and a tablet bearing the date of adoption of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776) in her left. The statue of Liberty represents a Roman Goddess. The statue can be explored and toured. If you would like to burn some calories and do some cardio, you can climb the 393 stairs leading to the statue’s crown. 

Golden Gate bridge

The golden gate bridge was designed by Joseph Strauss in 1917 and is one of the most well-known symbols of San Francisco and California.

This structure connects the two main cities of the Us, San Francisco, and California. Besides being one of the most beautiful and well-photographed bridges in the world, the Golden Gate bridge is claimed to be the longest suspension bridge in the world.

Although its name implies gold, the color of the bridge is a beautiful orange-reddish color.

Las Vegas strip

The last vegas strip is one of the luxurious six-kilometer stretches which has casinos and luxurious hotels. Initially, this is where casinos and hotels popped up.

This famous street is lined with replicas of the New York skyline, the Eiffel Tower, Venice’s canals, and numerous other foreign sites. As you observe the skyline, you will see the Egyptian-themed, pyramid-shaped Luxor hotel.

A few classic Hollywood movies will immediately evoke memories of this glamorous resort, where lavish hotels and casinos, decadent spas, and exciting nightlife combine to make you feel like you’re in a glamorous movie. Driving to the Las Vegas Strip from downtown takes just 10 minutes.

Since the traffic moves slowly and parking is pricey, taxis, minibusses, or monorails are the best ways to get around.

Niagara Falls is divided into three waterfalls American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Niagara falls is one of the popular destinations in Canada as well as the Us. Niagara Falls’ water is sourced from the Great Lakes, and it is estimated that the river is over 12,000 years old.

The Niagara River has two waterfalls on its banks: American Falls and Horseshoe Falls On the American side of the border are American Falls, while on the Canadian side are Horseshoe Falls. On both sides of the river, you can see the scenery, but if you are willing to cross the border into Canada, the Canadian side offers a different perspective.

Located in the western United States, Yellowstone National Park is a national park of the United States. In Yellowstone National Park there is a huge ancient volcano, which has resulted in an amazing landscape and natural phenomenon.

There are many attractions along the Yellowstone River that draw huge crowds every year, including geysers, hot springs, and waterfalls. Yellowstone national park is also one of the oldest parks in the USA.

There are a variety of activities across its 2 million acres, from horseback riding to fishing and scenic tours of wildlife. The park is also home to several wildlife animals. 

White house

The White House is the official residence and office of the United States president. It has served as the residence of every president of the United States since John Adams in 1800.

The white house is famous for its historical structure and it was originally built by James Hoban in 1792. Make sure to also include the White House as in your travel bucket list.

There is no charge for tours of the White House, but reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance.

There are several natural and popular tourist attractions in the United States, and the Grand Canyon is one of the finest. It is over 277 miles long and up to 18 miles wide, reaching a depth of more than a mile (6,093 feet or 1,857 meters).

The Grand Canyon is a deep gorge carved by the Colorado River, resulting in dramatic cliff walls and ledges. The Grand Canyon’s Tuweep offers visitors a chance to experience an uncrowded, rustic, and beautiful experience.

Mount Rushmore

As a promotion for tourism in South Dakota, Doane Robinson conceived Mount Rushmore in 1923. It took Gutzon Borglum and 400 workers between October 4, 1927, and October 31, 1941, to sculpt the massive carvings of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln representing the first 150 years in American history.

A national historic landmark in the United States, Mount Rushmore’s national memorial represents freedom and democracy. Visitors can take a tour guide and explore the place. Make sure to dine at Carver’s marketplace which has the perfect view of Mount Rushmore.

The Kennedy Space Center is a must-visit if you’re into space and astrology. There you will see Nasa spacecraft and the history of space exploration.

Kennedy space center is also a famous tourist destination and also popular among space lovers. In addition to the Journey to Mars exposition, Exploring the moon, Astronaut training center, and the Heroes & Legends exhibit at the Kennedy space center, there are many other things to see and do at the center as well. 

Florida keys

Florida key is famous for scuba diving, fishing, and boating. This destination is also used as a location for a film such as Fast 2 Furious and True Lies.
